esha88
Hi i was wondering if anyone on here knows or has ever known someone who has been diagnosed with this? for those who do not know what this is, its a form of dementia and parkinsons disease that affect the brain causing it to slowly deteriorate. motor control is also affected similar to syptoms of parkinsons. My Dad was diagnosed on friday after almost 2 years of testing. ive read many articles on the internet and got quite a bit of information. was just wondering if anyone could shed some info from a personal perspective. thanks

As this- internet trawling on medical conditions (unless from a reputable site like nhs direct) can throw up so much information that is incorrect... speak to your drs as soon as. Twiglet
I have heard of this disease but I wouldnt Google it, because they arent always up to date with the latest treatments. Leave it to the doctors. There's a lot of bad information out there but the internet can be a very useful tool. Once you have a diagnosis from a doctor, internet support groups etc. where people can share personal experiences of diseases and treatments are a valuable resource. Doctors often aren't up to date with rare or obscure illnesses, and also won't mention treatment options that aren't on the NHS that you may be able to get if you go privately.
