Jaw ache - dentist or dr?

Recommended Posts

I would say both. I have had issues with my jaw and face for quite some time. I initially went to the doctors who diagonised trigeminal neuralgia and prescribed me carbamazpine.

A couple of days after seeing the doctors I had an appointment with the dentist who suspected a dysfunctional joint (TMJ). They took impressions of my teeth and made me a splint to wear at night.

Ive got a displaced jaw my doctor didnt have a clue but dentist gave me a sheet of jaw exercises. you look like a prat while you do them but they work for me :-)

Same here.. My dentist told me to look into a mirror whilst doing them..

I couldn't do them for chuckling at myself.. :hihi:

Do your teeth feel like they're meeting differently to normal? Do you grind your teeth when you sleep?

Thanks everyone for the advice. I am booked in with the dr on Thursday, so will see what they say.

My teeth feel the same really... not noticed anything different.

I have been feeling down recently, not sure if its linked, but I would say I don't feel depressed.
