LellyBee
I'm assuming that DNA was kept from the original letters etc. You often hear of people caught for some totally irrelevant "crime" only for their DNA from years ago to expose and involve them in their previous crimes. I'm just assuming this though, it's not based on any fact

poppet2
A man has been arrested in connection with hoax letters and a tape sent to police during the Yorkshire Ripper investigation nearly 30 years ago. The full story. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_yorkshire/4354952.stm The hoaxster's crime took place more than 30 years ago. I've never understood why the statute of limitation didn't apply? He was sentenced to 8 years, but out after 3. Edited January 5, 2016 by poppet2

poppet2
Yes, but my question still applies, as I said, I never understood why the statute of limitation did not apply to a crime committed more than 30 years ago?
