Protest the cuts to our services before it is too late!

Recommended Posts

I know of several people including myself who does not fit into those categories you describe who'll be protesting against the Lib Dem liars tomorrow.

Why would a committed Labour man feel aggrieved about the LibDem wholesale betrayal of their supporters ?

Let's face it protests in this country are never going to be like those in poorer countries, generally the only ones protesting will be those who face job losses, the anarchists and socialist worker cronies, and nothing's gonna change the facts that cuts need to be made.

Indeed they aren't. This Government is about to precipitate the first ever strike by Headteachers. That is a protest that I really want to see.

Start by capping the wages/profits Banks, energy companies, drugs companies, the food industry etc can take from us.or does the governments not have that power ?

Then we could afford to buy locally produced food, and goods produced in this country.

Of course government doesn't have the power to start capping profits. The idea is ludicrous. What are you going to do? Tell the companies "Make your first billion then stop trading for this financial year, theres a good chap". Even if you cap profits and wages how does it mean people could afford locally priced food and goods?

You keep blaming the Bankers but who was it had the power to regulate the banking industry but just couldn't be bothered ? - not the last Labour govt. surely ? 13 years of lost opportunity by a bunch of numpties who got into power on a ticket of making life better for everybody but instead managed to make it a whole lot worse.

And the current bunch of numpties have no stomach for taking on the Bankers either, it matters not the colour of their rosettes, UK politicians are just a bunch of gutless whimps.

Quoted for truth.

Labour should have regulated the Banking sector much more rigourously (sic)

Quoted for truth.

Brown was seduced by the tax returns of the financial services sector and built an economy on it, he also knew that he couldn't regulate the financial industry because the only thing that kept the economy growing was the cheap credit available.

This is the reason our country is in the mess it is in now.

It doesn't matter what your political persuasion is, if you cant see that the banks and big business are to blame for our current situation, you really dont read enough.

I will be protesting tomorrow because i want the Lib Dems to leave the coalition. If they dont see the error of their ways soon they will kill the party forever.

This party was the only alternative to both Labour & the Tories who have allowed this mess in the first place. And now, they have sold us down a river...

They need to know, we are not happy. And sitting behind a keyboard moaning about it, isnt an option anymore.

IMO, there's nothing inherently wrong with deregulation.

The fewer rules the better.

But if deregulation leads to abuse, there's nothing wrong with reversing it, either.

The last Labour government introduced more new laws than any government in history.

Unfortunately, it seems they were more interested in quantity than quality.

Rubbish, the government of the day was responsible for the business of running this country, it is they who should be held accountable. I guess it's a lot easier blaming the "bogey men" for current situation though.

...

If big businesses are solely responsible for the financial mess in which the country finds itself, why is personal debt so high in the UK?
