It's a very common thing in the early days of relationships. Men can often feel engulfed and overwhelmed by the attention they're recieving and by the responsibilities of sharing their lives with another. Even when their partner isn't being overly intense or needy.

It doesn't necessarily mean he's gone off you, playing away, a commitment phobe etc. More than likely he just needs a bit of time and space to himself to reflect on and absorb the changes in his life, let him have it and see what happens. It's a normal, natural and desireable thing to do. You risk frightening him off if you attempt to take charge of it and if he really wants out there isn't much you can do about that.

Hope it all works out to the satisfaction of both of you.

how come , when things are going ok ur fella suddenly announces ,," he needs time alone to sort his head out ",, whats all that about, ???????

He doesn't have the hots for you anymore, and he's too much of a coward to be honest with you about it. So he uses subtlety, beating around the bush, rather than being straight and direct, all in the name of self-preservation.

Something women never do! ;)

EDIT: Oh god, I am so gonna get jumped on here.

Next time he comes around or phones you tell him that whilst he was off sorting his head out (pleeease) , You were also sorting yours out and then either slam the door/phone on him.

Take him back and you may has well print "door-mat" on your forehead.

Move on. There's always better if you think you deserve better.

Good luck.
