snoopjiggy
I've found East West okay - but there Masala Dosas are pretty average (and Im a very big fan of Dosas)- I think the over gushing praise it gets it just because it was the first place in Sheffield to start selling southern Indian food. I also think you'd be stretching it to call it "stylish" which is what the OP was after. True, I missed that part!!!
Crazylegs
Why not try moo la la, went there for their opening this weekend, it was fab. They specialise in produce from Sheffield and even have some original local art to look at while you tuck in to your Sheffield bred steak... Mmmmm

Speed Demon
Why so Jason? because i like to promote local produce, and not have to eat somewhere in which the ingrediants have flown half way round the world to be on your plate

I'd highly recommend Vito's on South Road at Walkley. Best italian i've ever eaten in Sheffield and he's a great host.
zippyzag1
Le Bistrot Pierre on Ecclesall Road, in my opinion is certainly worth a visit. Ive been there a few times and have always experienced great food, great service and the atmosphere has always been very relaxed. Try the Braised beef dish off the A La Carte menu... Ooh! It melts in the mouth http://www.lebistrotpierre.co.uk/food-and-drink/our-food
