Agbus
No. "god" tells people to do good, yet is responsible for some of the worst atrocities known to man. Have you got evidence for that?
flamingjimmy
but what do you have to offer if people obey you ? Please don't try and change the subject, I asked you a rather simple yes or no question Would it be alright for me to kill you and your entire family (except for the women of course, I give them to my loyal followers) for not obeying my rules as long as I gave you a "way out" first, like god does? lee123easy
But killing people, lots of them, for whatever reason, is not a GOOD thing to do. but what if it meant good things for those who obeyed him ? matthew 5:
sccsux
Have you got evidence for that? Bush actually said as much over the invasion of Iraq => http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/2921345.stm
flamingjimmy
Which has been shown to be false (in that "god" had made it impossible for a "way out"). Yeah I'd almost forgotten about that. The Pharaoh did not have a choice, god took away his free will, and the normal people of Egypt certainly didn't have a choice, but they were punished horribly anyway. sccsux
but what if it meant good things for those who obeyed him ? Then he is a god of the selfish, not one for the selfless.
Agbus
Bush actually said as much over the invasion of Iraq => http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/2921345.stm So you are saying it was God who killed the Iraq military?
flamingjimmy
but what if it meant good things for those who obeyed him ? Then it still wouldn't make it ok, that's ridiculous. That's the same kind of logic abusive husbands use.
sccsux
Yeah I'd almost forgotten about that. Something that is very easy to do with these threads with the diversions and dead ends, random quotes and links to religious websites...
