We are a country of softies and anything for an easy life. I would like to see some of the back bone back that we used to have and lets get back to making things and selling what we make abroad like we used to do.Lets stop being a nation of consumers and become a nation where there is a job and the skills we once had,has we are we spend more make less buy in more than we make and sell to others. THERE is way too many offices workers and shop workers and not enough of those making things like the steel workers and car factories and sewing factories all the old skills have gone or slowly dyeing we are now a nation of buyers how to we get back to a nation of producers and how can we stay a nation of buyers when we do not sell to other nations. We can no longer support this country like it was. All the bolds. This is possible. Scrap all benefits. Scrap national minimum wage. Scrap health and safety. Force people into work. I doubt any would be hugely popular, but all would probably be necessary to create any kind of huge workforce from the past. I doubt that it would still be enough. - Also, our massively produced cars were crap and outdated... Our basic steel industry could be still undercut quite easily... Would you prefer that I make Great Britain 'greater' by giving up work and claiming dole? Do you think that doing such 'unskilled work' means that my colleague deserved to be attacked, robbed, then even though they have his takings and phone, try and gouge his eye out with a blunt instrument? It's the only way according to the posters earlier that were posting for revolution. I would rather a pony or a 10 year old run the country than people like that. Unskilled workers keep this country going. That's why we bring in outsiders, because unskilled non-workers [perhaps unknowingly, or don't care] are the real cripples to the country. like i said get rid of taxi drivers its a unsafe job i agree Fair enough. Get rid of taxi drivers, and let's see what would happen. You do know we don't just pick up pi$$heads? We take people to and from hospital on their accounts, as well as cash jobs... we pick up business people who bring in huge revenue to the city; take hotel customers from out of town to events that bring in massive revenue to the city. DID I SAY ANY OF THIS NO I SAID BRING BACK THE OLD SKILLS WE USED TO HAVE, yes scrap most of the health and safety because most of what they inforce just makes things harder to get on with not like before but this would mean getting rid of highly paid pen pushers (haas if we need then). And yes the cars at the time where crap compared to todays but they all where back in the 60's,70's The steel was the best in the world but was produced cheaper aboard but the steel was not as good.
