Just plain childish

I usually do it it in fun, though some people seem to have no sense of humour.

To a dyslexic pointing out that they can’t spell isn’t fun, they have probably had it all their life and get a little fed up with being constantly reminded about it.:)

Maybe get a little assistance these days by using a 'spellchecker'? If you know you can't spell well and are trying to communicate in a written medium, might be a good idea just to give it a try?

You can usually tell when people have genuine problems though as opposed to a simple mishtayk, sometimes a typo/error can be funny. If you can't laugh at yourself, then there's not much hope for you.
