Re-filling the same beer glass- is it illegal?

Recommended Posts

Is anyone claiming this is against the law able to find which law it's banned under, as I've never heard of it being illegal.

Against most place's policies, yes, and it wouldn't surprise me to hear that some of them blame it on Health & Safety, but I doubt very much there is an actual law against a customer reusing a glass.

Mythbusters once did an similar experiment - how much bacteria do you transfer to dips if you eat part of a crisp and then dip it again. The answer - none.

Your mouth harbours more bacteria than your anus, nonetheless I know which one I'd rather stick my tounge into:hihi: So much for bacteria.

It might make me look daft but it would be more hygenic than having my beer drawn from a saliva laced beer nozzle?

then you take your dogs dish to the pub with you and I will carry on drinking from glasses

I've only quickly read the thread, but didn't see whether it's illegal or not.

When I worked in a club, it was policy not to re-use glasses, even when we ran out of clean ones.

What is worse than this though, and I notice as quite common is staff holding the glass at the top (i.e hands around the rim) when pulling a pint. Doesn't matter whether the glass has been through the machine 10 times, the crap on their fingers (with handling money and god know what else) is a far more unpleasant thought!

As yet the legallity of it hasn't been established although the general feeling is that there is no such law that prohibits it.
