Babooshka
Many modern marriages end in divorce, often children are involved, often the split up is messy and the children are the ones who suffer the most. So , given the statistics why do people bother getting married any more? It is merely a way of subsidising vicars anyhow. I don't disagree with most of your way of thinking. Never been the 'marrying' type myself, although, I don't think the 'children's suffering' is affected by a split in the marriage. Couples have kids OUTSIDE marriage, and split up, which also affects the children. So, that is not an aspect of marriage disasters per se.
bjshooter
I don't really see much point. I am not bothered about getting married, but would love to find the person that changed my mind.
jane2008
O/H and I have been together nearly 30 years and we are not married. I personally don't see the need for us to be.
fizzydrink
I think a lot of people get married for the DAY and not for a lifetime... I disagree with you on this I was married at age 37 to my husband in a dress and shoes that cost me £20 with 12 family members and my only thoughts were about our future together
