Anybody on the Forum remember the Adelphi Hotel opposite the Lyceum;back in the 60 s it was our favourite watering hole.We all met there had a look in The Star to see which group we wanted to see;then off we would go.In those days you could see a group every night in one pub or another. The landlord was big John an Irish bloke;he stood no nonsense from anyone[top man].The beer was good old Stones ale not the wind and urine they serve up now.Sometimes we went on a crawl via the Brown Bear-The Red Lion before the vagina decliners-The Wharnclife West St.The Saddle and West St.Hotel;By this time we were all well urinated.Fond memories of the good times.:D

One of the barmen was an Alan Reid, he had always pulled your drink before you ordered it, my mate used to say that he recognised you from your finger nails when you opened the pub door.

The pub had much to do with Sheffield Football and Yorkshire cricket, so why not demolish it? :loopy:
