Mr_Squirrel
He's a grown lad so don't see at his age why he should have to wear a uniform anyway. It says dress code but its uniform by the back door. Think its a jobs worth from the teacher. Why didn't the teacher say to photographer can you fit him in at the back so the trousers don't show. It's his last year after all. Police officers are grown adults but have to wear a uniform, so do Nurses, the military etc, that is not the issue. The school operates a uniform policy despite what they call it so its hardly 'back door' either. The other 239 kids managed the simple task of wearing appropriate clothing on the day, this kid didnt....... That should speak volumes.
T.J.
The parents are wrong - and the son has some blame at age 16. School uniform / dress codes are clear and in this case the family chose to 'loosen' the rules to suit their needs. Faded tracksuit bottoms are not suitable clothes for school. However, I think the school was harsh to exclude him from the photo IF this was the first time they had raised the issue with the student There are always two 'sides' to a story like this - the school might have had a constant battle with this student over appropriate school wear and this might have been the final straw

Snook
is that a serious comment??? Your refering to a 16 year old boy. In my opinion your comment sums up whats wrong in society today!! I think this story sums up what is wrong with society today. Parents have no respect for teachers or schools which lead to the children having no respect for teachers or schools. This then leads to children having no respect for older people or people in authority at all, which leads to anti-social behaviour, ban manners, and in some cases crime. I didn't even go to school that long ago but schools these days are more like a zoo.
CMSMJ1
is that a serious comment??? Your refering to a 16 year old boy. In my opinion your comment sums up whats wrong in society today!! Come on... Tracksuit bottoms are not suitable for school, whether photo day or not. Those particular ones in the star pic are just plain rough. Wearing of smart clothes should be something that is expected in the real world. Would that kid have turned up to a job interview in tracksuit bottoms? Probably...and that is what is wrong with the world:)
