Mayo in expansion tank

Recommended Posts

a 2003 mini supercharged started smoking, after it was stopped about a gallon of mayo came out of the expansion tank. it was 2qts low on oil, but no trace of water in oil. only oil in water. is there anything I can check or do before I pull the head off? thanks.:huh:

At a guess, blown head gasket.

The mayo is emulsified oil in your water. The 'smoke' is actually steam coming out of the exhaust.

Could be other things too like a split cylinder wall which would have the same effect.

I an confused too. I forgot to say in first post... it starts right up and sounds good. and no steam comes out the exzost , it seams like the oil burning off where it over flowed on to the exzost pipe right under the firewall
