cressida
No I definitely don't think we should bring back the death penalty - I believe murderers should be in prison for life - not twenty or so years. I f we kill them, and remember it would be in cold blood, then we are stooping to their level, we have to hold the moral high ground. For them the death penalty may be the easier option too, imagine being imprisoned for the rest of your life when you are still a young man/woman
Frank Sidney
I think we should if it can be proved beyond doubt especially these days with dna testing that a murder was commited.  What if the dna is planted...?
Sheffvan 1
Because it's immoral, illogical, devalues humanity No its not. It rids society of filth we currently have to spend a fortune of taxpayers money on feeding and watering them. Either the rope or lethal injection will do just fine , im happy with either. Sheffvan 1
Yeah - he killed some people - which is wrong. So if we kill him - guess what? It's wrong. Stop being such a Bleeding heart . Remember ........ The Death penalty has a 100% success rate . Not one criminal who has recieved the death penalty has ever gone on to re-offend. You cant Question stats like that. The problem with that theory is that you will be putting your trust in the British legal system who frequently get it wrong. History is littered with the wrong people being convicted and even executed.

If you were wrongly convicted of a crime punishable by death, what would be your argument against the death penalty - or would you simply accept it as a reasonable price to pay for justice and submit to execution? just_words
Someone once suggested that all prisoners should be put into a artificial coma, then just spend the last 3 weeks intensively rehabilitating them???

Great idea ,but the problem you would have there is the Human Rights people would be spitting their dummy out at the idea of everyones DNA being on a database.
