This Friday April 1st La Mama will be open each Friday and Saturday lunchtime from 11am onwards. So should you wish to stop for a bite to eat, a drink or simply coffee, we will be pleased to welcome you. From this Saturday April 2nd and each Saturday thereafter we will be hosting classes in the latest dance craze - Kizomba. A traditional and sensual Angolan dance with roots in Semba and Samba, it is sure to get you moving. Kizomba classes will run every Saturday afternoon from 3.30pm until 6.30pm. Beginners class first, intermediate second. The first class is £5, the second £7 should you have done the first. To reserve a place and join our teacher Antonio Filipe, just call 0114 327 9597. Finally we are pleased to announce that from Wednesday April 6th we will have a regular Latin Jazz music night with live entertainment. Our resident 'in house' band Pàrum Ba will be performing. Led by percussionist extraordinaire Kito Morales, the salsa fusion quintet will be performing their own twist on the Latin Jazz sound with strong hints of nuyorican and mambo styles.
