If you are British, you really had no say in it. Your British parent(s) had sex and out you popped. Some people think this gives them the right to espouse about all the dirty foreigners. My theory is, the more insecure people feel about themselves, the more they draw on accidental attributes such as being white and hetrosexual. What do you suggest, people should only have views on their fellow country folk and should refrain from commenting on things outside our own borders? Green Web Posted April 2, 2011 Share Posted April 2, 2011 Sheffield in-particular is very racist and the abundance of many backward people here are very vocal of their hatred towards Muslims etc, and will often pride themselves on their superiority over others such as Muslims, Jews, Sikhs etc... Now if you take established cities like Leeds for example where more people see the benefits of BME's, maybe Somalians are exempt, and just look at how so much more prosperous and wealthy Leeds is because it accepts other cultures, races and the enormous benefits they bring compared to racist regions like South Yorkshire. Because back then when we were great we stood shoulder to shoulder with our fellow countrymen...nowadays some have rejected their country and would sooner stick up for outsiders...you know who you are.. There was a programme about it some years ago. We got the industrial revolution going first. Could have been the Dutch but we bagged it. Plus we had the commonwealth, which meant we got to take raw materials and labour from where we liked and we built a nation on it. Without it, we may all be speking German now but I find it distressing that people pass comment on Johnny foreigner without understanding the role of Great Britain in making itself 'great'.
