We are now into third or fourth generation immigrants now and all that is different about some people is the colour of their skin. In the Pakistani's case the culture that they have adapted themselves into is neither Pakistani nor English but a mix of the two. It is different to the one they arrived with simply because of influence of life in a multicultural society. The differences are being eroded and the process is ongoing so talk of arrivals and adoption is so yesterday, most of the youngsters have never seen true culture of the Indian sub continent so why attribute that to them now just so that they can be pigeon holed for your own convenience? Well that's why there's the saying, "the good old days"... I don't think the only difference is skin colour. There's religion, with some groups, which is a major factor. This is why we still have problems. At school age the kids do share a similar lifestyle but when they leave the difference are huge. For instance the average 18 year old white girl has very little in common with a 18 year old Pakistani girl. They have, on the whole, different social and family lives. I feel you are letting your own prejudice get in the way of accepting things are different to your day even though you wish they weren't. The FaceBook generation is so much more integrated and multicultural that the ill educated 'not too bright' isolationists are being left behind in a big way. As I said the integration is not just local but the world is a smaller place with free flow of information and ideas around the globe. The racists will always be there but are being sidelined year on year as a bunch of boring and winging oldies trying to stop the wold from spinning. Frogga007 Posted April 4, 2011 Share Posted April 4, 2011 This topic is all about being racist and the only culture now having racism against it is the English, what I mean by this is if the enlish go to india, pakistan, dubai etc we have to obey there religion our women need to keep all there skin covered etc. But the immigrants, asylum seekers etc can now parade round England building there mosques preaching there religion. This country has become so PC and multi cultural that the only racism is against our own culture that has been in the UK for thousands of years. I am all for multi race and mixing of culture but there is no need for the British Government to punish the catholics and cofe's etc of this country and let the other cultures do as they wish because that is what is happening and when anything goes against these new cultures the race card is raised.
