alrockman
Hypothetical question. What will you do to protect your family? There are two islands with a million people on each island, you live on one of them with all your family and friends and you don’t know anyone from the other island. Each day someone from the other island fires a rocket onto your island which kills some people that you didn’t know, you have no way of knowing who it is and no way of getting to the island to stop them, but you do have a button which when pressed will kill everyone on the other island in one go. You know for definite that one day a member of your family will be killed by a rocket, would you press the button and kill everyone on the other island to save your family. Frank Sidney
Why are they firing rockets? Because they're Palistinians? I think that's the OP's veiled point...
alrockman
Why are they firing rockets? They are not firing rockets, it’s just a small group of them that are and the reason why they are firing them is unimportant, all you know is that one day a rocket will kill someone you love and you have a button that will kill everyone and prevent the death of your loved one. By pressing the button you will be sacrificing nearly a million people to save one person that you love.

Chris_Sleeps
So would you kill one million people at the push of a button to save you child. If you boil your point down, this is really all it is. It's a pointless hypothesis. What does it prove if people do agree? What can we extrapolate from that?

HeadingNorth
Yes, to save may all my family & friends in a hypothetical situation, I would press the button! What makes a half-dozen people you know, more important than a million other people that you don't?
