If you had the chance to become a moderator.. would you?

Recommended Posts

I dont think Id have the time to do it, I could find time I suppose but the problem is I think I might be a little too.... whats the word...? Enthusiastic...? Especially if I had powers to ban.

There are periods of sheer nastyness on here, as there can be on any forum and during those times I dont think Id be as patient as the current team. The rest of the time, most times, I dont think Id take it seriously because on a good day this place is too much fun to put the boot into people.

No chance. I reckon it would take away the last remaining fun from using the forum, it would become more a chore than a pleasure.

You are on the right track, being a mod means your every move, every word is picked on.

is there anything that you wouldn't tolerate that present moderaters do, and vice-versa.

Swearing / masked swearing. In the excitement of the final day of the season when Wednesday went down I earned myself a one day ban but yet I see masked swearing daily ………… Yes I do report it but isn’t that what AM are supposed to do.

Slightly off topic but still relevant - do we expect our mods to be literate? I know I do, I wouldn't expect a mod to employ spelling or grammar mistakes.

I don't know if literacy is one of the criteria for being asked to be a mod, but, if it is, is this discriminatory? Or perfectly reasonable, in your opinion?

Edit: PS, No I wouldn't want to be a mod. Quite enough hassle in my daily life as it is, thank you very much!

I don't think it makes a difference. People can moderate without even typing anyway.
