Jabberwocky
I dont think Id have the time to do it, I could find time I suppose but the problem is I think I might be a little too.... whats the word...? Enthusiastic...? Especially if I had powers to ban. There are periods of sheer nastyness on here, as there can be on any forum and during those times I dont think Id be as patient as the current team. The rest of the time, most times, I dont think Id take it seriously because on a good day this place is too much fun to put the boot into people. Phanerothyme
That's what Assistant Mods are there for. Like toilet cleaning it is a dirty job but it needs doing and the place would be the worse without it. There's nothing to stop a toilet cleaner becoming a CEO. 0742Sheff
I was offered a mod role on here back when Tony and Joe Pritchard were running the place. Back then it was more liberal but i still didn't feel i could do the job. These days i would probably last 30 seconds
Grandad.Malky
No chance. I reckon it would take away the last remaining fun from using the forum, it would become more a chore than a pleasure. You are on the right track, being a mod means your every move, every word is picked on. is there anything that you wouldn't tolerate that present moderaters do, and vice-versa. Swearing / masked swearing. In the excitement of the final day of the season when Wednesday went down I earned myself a one day ban but yet I see masked swearing daily ………… Yes I do report it but isn’t that what AM are supposed to do. shortcrust
It wouldn't be for me. I'm too badly behaved at times, and am far too lazy!

SHsheff
Slightly off topic but still relevant - do we expect our mods to be literate? I know I do, I wouldn't expect a mod to employ spelling or grammar mistakes. I don't know if literacy is one of the criteria for being asked to be a mod, but, if it is, is this discriminatory? Or perfectly reasonable, in your opinion? Edit: PS, No I wouldn't want to be a mod. Quite enough hassle in my daily life as it is, thank you very much!
