banjodeano
On Saturday night we went to a takeaway for a late supper before heading home, when i inquired where the toilets were i was told "sorry they were closed"..this was because it was late and half of the establishment was cleaned and closed off, and the toilets were beyond this point, is this actually illegal.? HeadingNorth
I'm not at all sure that a sit-down restaurant has a legal obligation to provide toilet facilities. I'm quite certain that a takeaway does not.
Sheffield3
I think it is yeah, if the public khazi's shut and you're bursting for a wee, by rights you should ask to use the staff one, well that's what I'd do anyway.
Winder
Whilst the Public Health Act 1936 gives local authorities a power to provide public toilets, it imposes no duty to do so, and the same applies to certain retail outlets, you do not have an automatic right to use their facilities.
