Mrs H Solo
The little Three Tuns used to be a good one. I remember it had J'taime on, and someone was overheard saying, "I love that Jet Amy".

normanmarina
Just wondering which pub had the best jukebox. Its my belief that the Nelson on the moor will take some beating. classics like Blackfoot Sue's standing in the road. Led zep galore jethro tull genesis yes etc. anyone no one with more classics on it Must agree,Nelson took some beating,Albert good too,as was the Timber top at shirecliffe, used to go there on a lunchtime from shirecliffe college, very little joinery work after lunch!!! sammo sparks
Seem to remember the Mulberry Tavern had one of the first video jukeboxes. cuttsie
The Adelphi opposite the Lyceum had a great jukebox it had movie pictures on it which was unusual in the 60s.One night someone put Jimmy Shand on causing loud booing, after that it was on ever ten minutes[annoying sods]. Tup does tha remember Jeff the waiter on in the Adelphi it used to be that packed that he had to carry a full tray [6 pints] above his head he never spilled a drop. The Dodger
Good choices. Mine are , Nelson & Albert, 2or 3 nights a week in these pubs. Yorkshire Bridge on the odd Friday or Saturday and the Victoria Vaults when on a pub crawl (good pinball there as well).
redshadow
Red Lion, Heeley Bottom. They had for a while the Thin Lizzy live single, which meant you got three songs for one play - "Rosalie / The Cowboy Song / The Boys are Back in Town".
lazarus
The Elephant Norfolk St/ Fitzallen Square, in the sixties, they had all the top twenty records of the time plus because a lot of Irish went in quite a few Irish songs too.
dunsel
Lazurus, I remember that! The soulfull Irish ballads demanded respect, or you were in for a good hiding. Never dissed them myself, still intact.
