Are there any models to avoid ?, our budget is about £4000 , we want a 5 dr manual , petrol with cheap tax and insurance if possible. We would prefer to buy it locally. Can anyone advise please ?.Thank you
smithy266
Have a look at places such as Direct Cars. I bought mine from there years ago, 1.2 model, now done 110,000 miles! They should have a good selection.
carosio
I'd avoid the Fiesta model. Hope this helps. Can you give reasons for that please? Always thought that this model was reliable, particularly the early ones.

Probably one of the posters who hasn't a clue what he is talking about!
Priorylady
I have driven older fiesta's and my present car is built on the mk 4 fiesta base. I've always found them very reliable, no more expensive than any other car to service and repair. Ford parts are usually easy to get hold of if there is a problem. I can't comment on the newer ones, but I haven't heard many people complain about them

alchresearch
Do an Ebay search but narrow it down to about 10 or 25 miles (depending on whether or not you have transport). Most traders and private sellers are now using Ebay because its far cheaper than Autotrader to advertise.
