HarleyLive
08/05/2011 Fixers @ The Harley Oxford boys Fixers make sunshine-drenched, Brian Wilson-tinged dream-pop. They played on Drowned in Sound's Esben & the Witch bill back at the start of the year, and we liked them so much we asked them back to play for us again. They also do a pretty ace cover of Rihanna's 'What's My Name', which ...you can check out on their Myspace, if you're of that persuasion: http://www.myspace.com/fixerstheband They will be supported by Sheffield italo-disco outfit Glistening Pelt, who also do a snazzy line in occasional covers. Their version of Jefferson Airplane's 'White Rabbit' is a regular in their live sets. In case you're not already acquainted, you can hear more here: http://www.myspace.com/glisteningpelt Completing the lineup with be brand-new Sheffield band Best Friends. They make awesome, garagey surf-pop and, as far as we're aware, this will only be their second Sheffield show. (They're playing the Washy this month, see.) We've had their Band Camp coming through the office speakers a hell of a lot recently, and you can hear it for yoursen here: http://bestfriendspartyhard.bandcamp.com/ Doors are at 7.30pm Tickets are £5.00 from: The Harley The Wick at Both Ends Arcade (Division Street) http://www.seetickets.com/Event/FIXERS/The-Harley/545068 http://www.wegottickets.com/event/114727
