algy
Any info on bee hives our allotments are trying to encourage more bee activity and would like advice please. If they're Council allotments I'd check with them to make sure you're allowed to keep bees. They can be classed as livestock, and can be a problem if not properly sited. On the other hand as evildrneil said, there are ways of encouraging bumble and other kinds of bee which don't have the same problems.
Alcoblog
Slightly unorthadox, I grant you ... go in the garden, pull your pants down, stick your bum in the air and pour honey on it!
cuttsie
Assuming you just want to encourage bees rather than keep them for honey you could try a bee box - Sainsburys have them in for about £4 each at the moment Cheers will have a look. mc55
Well we already have live stock but will check cheers. you'll definitely need permission from the allotment officers, there was a big ho-har recently at one of the Fed meetings. You'll also need to declare if you are intending to sell the honey.
