sedith
I had something similar to this with a 51 plate Megane several years ago, I had to have the keys reprogrammed. I'm not sure but I think it was about £40 at Gordon Lamb's.

steveh
How do you know it's not the batteries? have you changed them? If so on some cars you only have a limited time to do it before the memory is lost and it needs reprogramming. You should also be able to use the key in the lock and ignition and it work the immobiliser even if the battery is flat (unless it's an aftermarket one). SlimRick
Have you tried locking and unlocking the car door with the key? If that doesn't work there is usually a sequence of key turns that will bypass the immobiliser, but without further details of the car it's difficult to advise.
