studentbob
Just wondered if anyone else had seen this film (I heard it mentioned on a BBC radio interview the other day) and what they think of it. More specifically I'm thinking of those forummers who have a bit more than the usual knowledge of economics. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5352106773770802849# Speaking as an anti-capitalist, there isn't much in the film that I can find to argue against. So I'd be grateful for any serious input that can counter the negative portrayal of the banking system. btw I know it's 47mins but the animation is really very good and the whole thing motors along such that the time flies by. Vague_Boy
Just wondered if anyone else had seen this film (I heard it mentioned on a BBC radio interview the other day) and what they think of it. It's a reasonable introduction to the concept, although perhaps a tad simplistic and exaggerated for effect. The film's creator deal's with the two main criticisms of the film on his blog: Disputed Information in Money as Debt The good news is that a revised version of the film is on its way. "It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

Cavegirl
These 3 documentaries are well worth watching if you want to improve your understanding of the global banking system: 1. The Money Masters. Low budget but absolutlely fascinating history of banking since biblical times: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-515319560256183936# 2. The Secret of Oz: Examines how the symbolism contained in the book is actually a protest against banking and a call for the masses to create a currency based upon silver (Dorothy's slippers were originally silver, they were changed to ruby in the movie to take advantage of the new colour technology): http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/the-secret-of-oz/ 3. How the banks won: A BBC dispatches documentary which has some brilliant research about exactly how little (in terms of tax/ business) banks contribute to UK society (contrary to the popular myth) and reveals how the banks receive more government subsidies than any other industry, including farming and construction. http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/how-banks-won/
