manofstrad
I did jury duty once and got a case that was two off-duty bouncers beating up a young lad. No CCTV footage from Weatherspoons, no CCTV footage in the town centre, so they had friends in the right places. Their downfall was that their defence was "we both got knocked out in one punch, at the same time, and didn't see or do anything" so they were found guilty. That just about sums it up, doormen are beefed up out of control thicko's.
helibish
Don't door men have a SIA licence? i thought they did. Some are ok but you do get the ones that throw their weight around. Usually the ones who wanted to join the army but were to afraid, so they get the next best job. LOL Send em to iraq, that will sort them out. roughy101
the doormen in there are so heavy handed its untrue.the manageress grace is in a relationship with one of them so no matter what happens the doorman are always in the right.the problem with wetherspoons is you can only complain about the staff or doorman online on the wetherspoons website ,if you do complain online the complaint is passed back to management of the pub in question to deal with. if any one knows how you can complain to area or regional managers of rawsons please let me know. Micky ET
I'm sure that if the young gentleman in question was aggrevied he could go to the police sober and they would have to take up the compaliant and 99% of public ouses have cctv there would be evidence. However there is then the defence of reasonable force and the cps very rarely take these cases forward
shanes teeth
Why would anyone want to go to the sort of place that needs to employ door/bouncer/thug people?
Tomm06
No wonder they didn't listen to you, you'd had a sniff of booze, the second you step in a pub, no matter what you say becomes completely pointless. You told them what happened, the bouncers and Police probably you was just some daft drunk, regardless of what you've drunk. Really gets to me, trying to chat with a bouncer can be bloody hard work. I know they get a lot of stick on here etc... but I've found I can have a laugh with the bouncers at Leadmill most.
SpecialPG
Have you found out where to report them to yet?All doorstaff should be qualified under the SIA licence, and each doorman HAS to sign in and out with his badge number when he/she works, so the pub should have record of his details and you can report said actions here http://www.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk/Pages/enforcement-reporting.aspx
Riⅽhy
Yeaah I, the bouncers can be heavy handed, and some would say they have a lot of stuff to deal with out there but, they should treat each situation on its own circumstances. I saw a guy who kicked off in Corporation, the bouncers carried him out, took his shoes and he had to get home barefoot.
ratter71
often refered to as 'roid rage'. i thought that was a bad temper caused by the grapes of wrath??
Darth Vader
Even if the guy was doing something wrong it doesn't mean that while being restrained by having his arms held and escorted out that one of the bouncers can headbutt him from behind. Exactly. I don't care for the description of the police's response either. To the OP, I'm glad you took the trouble to speak to the police, I urge you to take this further, both with Wetherspoons and the police.
