normanmarina
Anyone like me remember taddying in the ponds that had been created in the old footings of the huts in the P.O.W camp at lodge moor? We used to take the path at the rear of the camp, the one that goes from blackbrook road to soughley lane at wyming brook,we would jump over what was left of the perimeter wall with nets and jam jars.spend a few pleasant hours collecting taddys and newts, the water was alive with them!! I would keep mine in a tank at home until they became frogs, then I liberated them in the garden.
simonj
Don't recall ever taddying up there but do remember exploring the least accessible areas in the early 70's and finding a half buried truck somewhere in the middle of the undergrowth. I've since spent many happy hours walking mine and my dads dogs up there over many years and never managed to rediscover the truck!
911wasalie
Before Parsons Cross was built behind Southey Green School we could walk across the fields to Ecclesfield and on the way was a stagnant pool with lots of frog spawn in it which we collected in a jam jar and put it in the pagglin ( paddling ) pool in Ecclesfield park.
