Religion’s role in gender discrimination?

Recommended Posts

I'm sure the word "Lord" is derived from an Old English word, so can't possibly be in any original texts.

We have our 'Lords' in the UK but they are not God, but whenever it occurs in the Old Testament people automatically think it means the Almighty.

The New Testament is about the teaching of Jesus which is Christianity, while the Old Testament is Judaism and if you study it they are two different religions.

The only trouble is that atheists insist in quoting the Old Testament as though it us Christianity, but that is their mistake.

hehehehehehe oh dear. that's hilarious

To be fair it's not significantly less silly than this:

Until the time of The Prophet, PBUH, yes... Until God instructed that the idols of the false gods that had been kept inside the Kaa'ba be taken out and destroyed.

So why are they in the same book (and treated as one text) if they are two different religions ?

So christians don't follow the "10" commandments? They don't believe in Noah and the "flood"? They don't believe that "god" created the universe?

BTW. (as has been mentioned before) many atheists were brought up in a christian environment, your claims that we are wrong is an insult beyond the pale (especially when your particular flavour of christianity is different from most of the other flavours about).

Technically they are two separate books written hundreds of years apart. One was written by Jews and the New Testament by Christians.

No it is something like elohim which has a duel meaning.

It does indeed have duel meaning, but neither of them is "Lord".

The word pre-dates christianity by 600-700 years and the original meaning is unknown.

So why arn't they treated as two seperate books, why bind them together ?

Should Christians take no notice of the old testament ?

There is a common theme running the whole way through, but it gets hijacked by the Jews.
