Twitcher
tinnitus-ah that rings a bell I hope you never have this, you wouldn't be so glib about it then! I have had this for years now. I know what caused it, it was years of abusing my ears going to loads of rock concerts in the 80's, I knew I'd pay for it one day, sometimes I couldn't hear for days. So....the effect I have now is this terrible constant ringing, like others have said some days are better than others stress makes it worse and I have difficulty sleeping some nights but on the whole have got used to it now. There is a Tinnitus society on Acorn Close as Woodseats but I think looking at their website you pay a sub for a magazine, not much in the way of support really. I had a scary thing happen at work last week though, my left ear was just ringing so loud I was almost deaf in it and I found it hard to concentrate on working and functioning, I hope that's now a taste of things to come! It's horrible and I can sympathise with you....
jonnythefox
I have had it for 35 years, and just like others have said some days are worse than others.I work in a noisy fabrication shop and i dont notice it at work but once i get out of work it drives me mad,i was told by a specialist at the hallamshire when i was 19 that there was no cure, i am 55 now and recently asked my doctor if a cure had been found same answer no
