CXC3000
So you prefer to see dead civilians rather than anyone else ? Here's the choice. Either Ghadaffi's forces go on killing civilians or a slight chance that drones may kill a few civilians or may not kill any civilians at all. What's it to be? You really think Ghadaffi is killing civilians ? - where are the reports ? - where are the pictures ? - where's the evidence ? Ever since we've fallen out with him, all these wild accusations are starting to come through from the media; I hate the guy as much as you do, but don't think the 'good' guys are on the opposite end. War crimes can be committed by anyone, and we've seen pics of dead women and children being killed by these so-called good guys. Tell me, do you approve of killing civilians if there's one bad guy amongst them ? And your point is? To highlight the hypocrisy of certain nations. eastbank
Then the US shouldn't be involved. Anyway we should have learned long ago that getting involved with a bunch of squabbling tribes of desert folk is a loser. too true...let them have the sand.....we want the oil....the US and us always get involved...its what we do...and do it well... The Arab league apparently believed that Ghadaffi was killing civilians, one of the reasons they requested the UN to mandate the no fly zone and of course NATO it seems are the only force to implement this. But for the A.L appeal to the UN we would not have become involved in Libya even though our leaders were spouting off about doing something about bad old Ghadaffi. ]

Ah yes; that Arab League that's filled with dictators and despots; the ones that are killing their own in places like Bahrain and Yemen.
SportsTrophy
Drones are used as they have the capacity to look at the targets with greater detail without the risk of sending troops or pilots. They can relay direct images of the military and look for signs of civilian activity before deciding on action to be taken.
taxman
It's a local problem, let the Arab league deal with it.....oh, they can't because they are too busy using the weapons we sold them to subjugate their populace....drat!

Hmmm.. so how do you explain this piece of precision and accuracy (from an hour ago) : U.S. drone attack kills 25 in Pakistan The strike, which killed three civilian women and four children in addition to 18 suspected militants... http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-pakistan-drone-attack-20110423,0,5711991.story?track=rss Dead women and children (as mentioned in the OP), and 'suspected' militants; in other words, any adult male is a 'suspected' militant. And then the murderous US regime wonder why they're losing the war.
