Overnight trouble in Bristol

Recommended Posts

just been discussing this on another forum

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-13167041

and just seen it on the sky news channel.

some facts that stuck out from the sky report

8 police injured

160 police in full riot gear sent to arrest 4 people

300 people gathered to protest

8 arrests

seems a bit strange tbh, that many police for that few people, and that small amount of arrests for so many protestors that WAS a riot situation.

apparently the police moved in to arrest because they had information the neighboring tesco store was going to be petrol bombed

apparently in the end it WAS set a light lol, so the police action was a success YAAAY!!

somebody on the other forum who was in bristol last night and lives near said the following

"There's been some street protests against building the new tesco down there over the last year or so, it's in a an area with a lot of local shops around there and some people in the community weren't happy about it.

Anyway, the Tesco got built in the end."

I expect there will be more riots and a general uprising, with rebel held areas in the west and north of the country within a few weeks. The big question is will NATO support armed rebels in the UK against the government forces when they counter-attack?

(Interesting parallel, what really would happen here if there was armed insurrection as there has been in the Arab world?)

ive thought about that, personally i think generally the general public are too apathetic and wrapped up in their cosy little bubbles, it'd take a lot to shake them out of it.

but yeah it'd be amusing to see the government bombing itself to help its enemies

:suspect:

errrrrrrrrrrrrrm
