Anna Glypta
I'm just looking out of the window and it is pouring with rain. Two of my neighbours have washing hanging on the line and both have had it hanging there for 4 or 5 days now. In that time several folks have lit barbeques or fire pits and filled the place with smoke. Dozens of birds have perched on the washing lines and left their calling cards. Now the washing is getting to be wetter than it was when it was hung out there. I just wonder why people leave their washing hanging for days. Is there a secret that I've missed? Anna Glypta
Are the people at home or have they gone on holiday? No they are both at home. A couple of nights ago one family had a garden party. They lit a chininea and smoked their own washing line.
Isabelle
My neighbours once hung a duvet on the washing line and left it for months. Then it fell off and they just left it there.
MonkeyLover
I think it is because they are just too lazy to fetch it in! My neighbour once left a load of clothes out on the line, they were there for 3 weeks!
Karis
Darn! You just reminded me: I left a load of washing in the machine before I went on holiday... My friends leave washing out all the time; it's because they can't be bothered to bring it inside...

vinyl
I have a young lady who lives next door to me. If it rains I like to be a good neighbour and take her washing down for her. It seems a shame for such delicate skimpy silky smooth underwear to be out in the rain. Sometimes it doesn't rain for weeks and so I just have to watch it blowing in the breeze. But it rained today. Fragrant.... Ok I'll come quietly.
