Bec
I know this is a very old thread - but did you find any old photos of Raincliffe? I'm very interested to see some of the history as I live in the old Lodge House which was part of the Raincliffe Estate. Many thanks. Bec

cuttingedge
My farther in-law was born in a cottage in the corner of the field in nineteen seventeen it was a two up and two down, there were nine of them living there,it was called Mously(sp) at that time and the field is still known bye the farmer as manny turners, both mr Newton, and mrs newton drew had their own RR some days they would give them lift on station rd, when it was time for grass cutting the gardener would come round for him to pull the lawn mower,at the end of the day they would give him one penny.
