The Royals need to get into the 21st Century! :rant::loopy:

 

In this day and age it shouldn't matter whether someone's black, white or an Elephant, if you love them enough to want to get hitched, that's all that should matter.

Now that would be interesting in the bedroom.

You're looking at the Bowes side of the family, Mecky-the Lyons were far more 'continental'-

Cecilia Nina Bowes-Lyon, Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne, GCVO, (11 September 1862 – 23 June 1938) was the mother of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (later Queen Elizabeth, and then Queen Mother) and maternal grandmother and godmother of Queen Elizabeth II.

 

 

Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon was born 4th August 1900 and died 30th March 2002.

Amongst many other titles, she was The Queen Mother, as mother of the present monarch Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen Mother's parents were:

Claude George Bowes-Lyon, Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne.

Cecilia Nina Bowes-Lyon, Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne. Her maiden name was Cavendish-Bentinck.
