leelister6
I had my Audi A6 wrote off as a cat C a couple of years ago. Only a damaged front o/s wing, o/s headlight and 2 suspension components required to get it back on the road after a V.I.C. Was only wrote off cos my insurance insisted it go to one of their 'approved garages'

megalithic
More like cataclysmic conversion, the insurance will reflect that.
truman
CAT C cars are when repair cost exceeds the cost of the car.. which normally means damage is quite severe Not necessarily..depends on the value of the car and cost of labour
mc55
in my case it was deemed that my car's age made it not worth the cost of repairs, even though it appeared to be just body work (front wing, driver & back doors). I toyed with getting it fixed locally, but the hassle of the VIC (and getting it there) and then having potential insurance issues in the future put me off. It was written off as a Class C
truman
It can also be a useful tax wheeze for companies with fleets. Interesting...do tell...
