Is it now unlawful to protest the royal wedding?

You are saying that they didn't have the option for a scaled-down, more private wedding?

They could marry in biggleswade register office if they wanted, surely it is their choice?

Would you let others dictate your wedding arrangements?

Why should they (or anybody else) arrange their wedding to please you?

If you feel 'offended' then you are entitled to do so. Go away, sit quietly and wait for the feeling to pass.

They may have been influenced by 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding'. :P But I'm 100% sure the dress will be more tasteful than Katie Price's!

Kate Middleton may have come from parents with a bit of dosh, but it wasn't inherited until one generation ago. Why spoil her day?

Seriously, the grandson of the Queen was unlikely to get married quietly in a register office. The tourist industry in and around London will welcome this occasion, and the money it will generate. Whether you or I or anyone not directly related to the couple think the style of the wedding is appropriate is neither here nor there. Its one day. If it offends so much, just stay in bed.

If you wish to organise a protest, then you are free to do so in your hometown- there is no law against it. You might get arrested but the police just follow orders and are not the lawmakers!

If there is no law against it, why may you get arrested?

That is the whole point of this thread in a nutshell.

Just because a police spokesperson says 'this is not allowed' doesnt mean its not legal. Its essentially state control.

Because police arrest people, although they dont always have legimate grounds to do so, they can always find a reason.

As far as im aware peaceful protest is legal in this country. Yet, how many arrests have we seen over the years at peaceful protests.
