Rupert_Baehr
a Israeli attack on Iran...Please keep up Longcol. But ... if that happens - why would that start WWIII? Peres will claim that Ahmadinejad spilt his pint. Ahmadinejad will say "so what' and call him a puff. All their mates will pile on. If Iran was to attack Israel, then the United States would almost certainly come to Israel's aid. - They've already said that Israel is a firm friend and that they would come to the assistance of that friend if it was attacked. The relationship between Israel and the US is hardly a secret. But if Israel was to launch a pre-emptive attack against Iran - and Operation Babylon suggests that they just might attempt to destroy Iranian nuclear facilities - would the United States attack Iran? - That's not quite the same as 'coming to the aid of an ally' - but assume it did happen: Who are the 'mates' who would pile on to support Iran? Russia - a European country which headed up the USSR - had its own internal problems; problems which tended to involve Eastern and South Eastern Socialist Republics. Would the Russians - Europeans - really want to support the peoples of those Eastern and South Eastern republics? Would they want a strong non-Soviet nuclear-armed bloc up against their 'soft underbelly'? Perhaps the Russians would make life as awkward as possible for the US, but would they really go to war to support Iran? Then, of course, there are the Kurds. The Brits promised the Kurds an 'independent Kurdistan' during the First World War - but they didn't keep that promise. There are Kurds in Turkey, Kurds in Iran and Kurds in Iraq. The Kurds haven't forgotten and there is still no independent Kurdistan. I wonder whether the Kurds would be keen to support Iran? Or would they be inclined to wait until the dust settles and push for their own independent state? And, of course, there's China. A firm ally of Iran? Why on earth would China want to wage a military war against anybody? - Their economy would grind to a halt. How much do you think they would export to the US and Europe if they sided with the Iranians against America? A war between Israel and Iran might have a devastating effect on the global economy, but I wonder how many countries would want to join in? Well done - you've linked to the same video twice. And Russia Today is just a propaganda site aimed at the hard of learning.
