adelrose
As a woman do you shake hands as a welcome/goodbye gesture or as a thankyou to people you meet? Do you shake hands with men and women or just one or the other? How do you feel about a woman shaking your hand if youre a man? Do any of you find it wrong or uncomfortable for a woman to shake your hand? Would you consider that woman as confident , over confident or even cocky? Im really interested in what you all feel about the gesture.

jane2008
I don't shake hands when I meet up with friends, but if meeting someone for the first time after being introduced I will shake hands with them whether it is a man or woman I am meeting
Rampent
What's wrong with a woman shaking someone's hand? If it's a bloke, he might think he has 'pulled' and want to marry her.
medusa
It something i see men do but never a woman, and was curious to know why. In the course of a business day I would normally have shaken hands with dozens of people, both male and female. Every one to one meeting ended with shaking hands, although mine became rather clumsy after I could no longer shake right hands.

NorthernStar
Shaking hands is the correct etiquette in a formal environment like a work/interview/meeting but its a little strange I think when just meeting someone at a pub or other informal situation.
