Quickest way to remove tree stumps advice please

Recommended Posts

If you mean "easiest" it's a digger.

If you mean "at any price" it's a digger.

If you mean "quickest" it's a digger.

If you want "cheap", it's a spade, and lots of time and pain. :hihi:

I've removed more stumps than your average person.

I'm no expert on removing tree stumps, but I can confidently state that trying to gnaw it out with your own teeth would be a better idea than using hydrofluoric acid.

If i was on facebook, and that was a post there, i'd hit the like button.

Alco, rule of thumb is the canopy will mirror the root structure.

And last time i tried to hire one no Sheffield shop had one, nearest was Rotherham.

Expensive too.

Another method. Using a large wood drill (3/4 inch) bore several holes at the top of the stump and fill with radiator coolant which I read is very effective in deterioting the wood.

There's also the trusted chain saw, one with enough guts that can cut down vertically through the stump in slices.

I used one to get rid of a dying plum tree and the stump with it

Actually, that's given me a good idea! I could hollow out the stumps with a chainsaw and turn them into planters! :o
