Chris_Sleeps
All things are poison, and nothing is without poison; only the dose permits something not to be poisonous. Paracelsus. Giving the lad water or chocolate could lead to the same charge that Daven mentions. I'm not justifying the father's actions, but context is important. Phanerothyme
The point being the father, not being a medically trained professional, had no idea what the required dose should be or what interactions the cannabis may have had with other medications his son was on. jb Very few, if any, medically trained professionals would have any idea whatsoever of dosage and interactions concerning THC/CBD But a detailed lay investigator should be able to satisfy themselves, with a few hours of study, that the toxicity profile and interaction with chemotherapy drugs would not contraindicate the administration of cannabis. The main pitfall is the route of administration, and not the toxicity or reactivity of the drug.
melthebell
Why would a paper known for being anti-drugs print a story that shows cannabis can work positively? The truth?...
Dozy
The truth?... oh, Mel, I laughed so hard when I read that, I nearly fell off the sofa! :hihi:
flamingjimmy
Even with the inverted commas, I think the thread title is misleading. There is nothing to suggest that weed cured (or 'cured') this child of cancer.

flamingjimmy
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/7098340.stm Put that in your pipes and smoke it. Put what in our pipes and smoke it? That is an article about a different type of cancer and a different compound and a different effect. It in no way backs up the assertion that cannabis 'cured' this child of cancer. Tony
It make you wonder why the child's doctors bothered giving him all the chemotherapy.

Even more true, in fact, because it has 11 million extra results. I think you've invented a new logical fallacy dabuckle, congratulations: argument from google results.
