Grandad.Malky
. I love going into a pub and just chatting to older people and talk about their past. . Years ago I used to work with a old bloke that was in the Navy, he was full of yarns, I bet he his keeping those “upstairs” enthralled with his tales now. lectrolove
My Dad will be 90 this year and fought and was wounded in WW2, his memories are still sharp and he's got a photo album of his army days with lots of pictures of him looking unbelievably young in North Africa. scousemouse
Sadly, my parent never spoke of the war. A great shame I think. I only know they were in the middle east. I do remember my dad saying, if he had driven up to a customer in Japanese car (we are talking right up to the 60,s) he would not have got the orders he was hoping for. True or not I don't know. I will, when I get round to it, get in touch with the army records office. It takes months though. A friend of mine got her dads, got so pally with the man in London, she was thinking of asking him for lunch!!!!!!
