BarnsleyOMRL
UKIP and the Liberal democrats had 2 candidates each in Barnsley, where 21 seats are being contested. The loonies had none. This is a victory for the loonies and the UK. Seeing as most people don't bother to vote, we decided to not to stand in Barnsley this time around. Then next time around, the majority of voters (non voters - presumably due to lack of a loony candidate) can vote for us.

rickiethecat
People don't vote in Barnsley because the locals just vote Labour regardless of who's standing. Their last MP was sent to prison for fiddling his expenses yet Barnsley people still carry on voting for his party!

vinyl
But on the other side of the coin http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-13307893 Scottish Election: Labour crashes in Scottish heartland These aren't Council elections. This is failure on a big scale in a National election and would cause Labour real problems if repeated in the same areas for the Westminster Parliament.
