Rupert_Baehr
Asda has bought all Netto stores. In the UK or Worldwide? Walmart bought Asda. I can't see them wanting to get their fingers burnt in Germany again in a hurry. They opened Walmart stores here, but the Germans were not at all impressed. Rupert_Baehr
Thanks for the link, Wallace. It looks as if Asda may be buying the properties from Netto. - There's nothing to suggest they will be buying the trade name, so presumably those shops will re-open as some sort of mini Asda

They will still trade as normal Scandinavia, Germany and Poland. All the stores will become Asdas (by next summer), except where the competition commission makes them sell because they are too close to existing Asdas (e.g. like why Morrisons were forced to sell Somerfield by Bramall Lane to Waitrose). Would that be the Somerfield that was Safeway!
