Nagel
I recently got an antique Electrophorus (it's a static electricity generator) and the correct way to charge it is using a piece of cat pelt. Anyone know where I can get some? ( ie. http://physicslearning.colorado.edu/website_new/Common/ViewDemonstration.asp?DemoCode=5A10.20 )

Phanerothyme
Chinese fake fur goods are sometimes made from cat pelt, otherwise you'll need to find an antique one, or possibly find a Swiss supplier.
Guest
Try wool. Google will suggest other alternatives.
fake
PM me with a name and address and I will send you some. Its from a old ginger stray that I have been looking after that had very bad matted fur that I started to pick off and have lots. He had to be clipped in the end as it was so bad but its now growing back just fine. BTW It should be good as its very fine fur and you could make a brush with it. I believe cat fur gives a positive charge and is especially good at producing a static charge as this picture shows http://shechive.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/best-photos-442.jpg

Have a look here, for example (where you'll also find an explanation for the cat-styrofoam interaction).
Phanerothyme
Looks like dry human skin is best really. Might have to go a bit further afield for that though.
