Recommended Posts

Press Release from Tates Travel :

Tates Travel in partnership with South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive are pleased to announce the introduction of several newly awarded contracts across South Yorkshire, effective from July 24, 2011. Some of these contracts open up new bus links to areas such as Denby Dale, Cannon Hall, Holmfirth and Holmfirth High School.

A network recast will be taking place from July 24 around the Penistone and Stocksbridge areas, including the introduction of new services and opening up new links between areas, such as Barnsley to Denby Dale, Cawthorne to Penistone or Millhouse Green to Barnsley District General Hospital.

There will be a number of services introduced from July 24, including our Pennine Explorer network of routes, which run from Holmfirth to Penistone or Stocksbridge/Deepcar which allow for further connections to be made at these transfer points for onward travel into Barnsley and Sheffield.

We are also pleased and proud to announce that we will be introducing a new 92/92A service from July 24, 2011 linking Barnsley to Cannon Hall Country Park and Cannon Hall Farm.

A full list of services that are to be introduced from July 24, 2011 are:

23/23A Barnsley - Penistone (23) or Crow Edge (23A).

24 Barnsley - Denby Dale.

25/25A Penistone - Holmfirth.

72 Chapeltown - Manvers.

92/92A Barnsley - Crow Edge.

201 Chapeltown - Stocksbridge.

202 Barnsley - Broomhill.

203 Barnsley - Doncaster.

257 Deepcar - Holmfirth.

268 Hillsborough - Wharncliffe Side.

We're also pleased to announce that line 300 has been saved, and will continue to run to a revised hourly service Monday - Saturdays from July 24, 2011. However line 301 will be withdrawn, although this service is partially replaced with new line 24 - with the addition of an extended route between Upper Denby and Denby Dale. This will allow for further connections to be made into the Kirklees area.

Please be aware that the services listed above are only a brief guide to the new SYPTE contracts that have been awarded, and full details and schedules will be published shortly for these services, and other services that are changing from July 24, 2011. Please also be aware that line 956 will be in operation again this year, operating between July 26 and August 26, 2011 between Cannon Hall Farm and Huddersfield Bus Station. This service is funded directly by West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (Metro) and will run to the same schedule as last year. A schedule, containing a full route description will be uploaded onto this site shortly.

I work for first olive grove my self as a driver

I do the 36 quite regular in an an evening and no one gets on u will a couple of oaps on a Friday n Saturday nite it's the same with the 35/37 aswell did them 2nite

I catch the 36 which leaves interchange at 9.25pm most Wednesday evenings though less in winter. That always has plenty of users. Given the 36's record of failing to turn up I daren't risk waiting for the 10.25 and possibly having to fork out £8 for a taxi. In winter as the 36 now only runs hourly I don't like standing shivering at a bus stop for a bus that may or may not be on time. Next Wednesday I won't be catching it as Street Force is resurfacing part of the Wincobank Avenue section of the route. I've just looked on the 'bus disruptions' bit of the South Yorkshire Travel website to find details pf the diversion but only train disruptions come up. Not a happy bunny!
