Parapou
A change not listed yet is to the 40/41/49/50/50A/120. First will be withdrawing routes 40 and 41 and jointly operating the 120 with Stagecoach. First 120 will run every 8-10 minutes Crystal Peaks to Fulwood Crimicar Lane Stagecoach 120 will run every 8-10 minutes Halfway to Hallamshire Hospital. Jointly there will be a bus every 4-5 minutes Crystal Peaks to Hallamshire Hospital. Promotional day ticket at £3 and promotional weekly ticket at £9 valid on both. . Press release from Stagecoach Sheffield website: From Sunday 24th July, Stagecoach in Sheffield will be making a number of changes to services in the Sheffield area ... Service 120 Halfway – City Centre – Hallamshire – Fulwood This route will form part of the Sheffield Voluntary Partnership Agreement as an Optio route Service 120 will be jointly operated by Stagecoach in Sheffield and First South Yorkshire with Optio Orange dayrider and megarider tickets available that can be bought and used on any bus. During the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays buses will run between Halfway and Hallamshire Hospital (Stagecoach) and between Crystal Peaks and Fulwood (First). There are significant timetable improvements in order to provide a 4 minute frequency between Crystal Peaks, Sheffield City Centre and Hallamshire Hospital. An 8 minute frequency will operate beyond Crystal Peaks to Halfway and beyond Hallamshire Hospital to Fulwood. During the evening and on Sundays, all buses will operate from Halfway through the city centre to Fulwood with a frequency up to every 10 minutes. . .... so for the 40/120 (previously known for decades as the 60) there'll be no buses going up to Redmires Road, and from Fulwood to Hallamshire a halving of the frequency. Currently 16 buses an hour in each direction, will be only 8 (and given its First that really means 5 with 3 of those running in convoy).
silverknight
Most new timtables from July are now available on the TSY website: http://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com Some of the new tendered contracts which have been awarded to Tates Travel can be found on their website: http://www.tates-travel.com A few late changes are expected due to Veolia transport UK closing down later this month and the PTE having to find some replacement bus service cover. Unconfirmed reports is that Tates Travel and TM Travel will cover these routes as tempory cover until new tenders are issued and funding found from PTE budgets. CheekyBandit
Service 95: Sheffield - Walkley This service will have a new timetable to improve reliability. Evening service reliability doesn't seem to be improved - most services are designed for a single diagram and only allow 6 minutes to turn around at Walkley. Service every 40 minutes is inadequate, timetable is extremely flawed and often falls down. Cancellations have not been uncommon.

If you have issues with service 95 write to PTE/First with times and dates. If very regular then go to the VOSA who issue the licence to operate bus services and can fine companies for NOT operating to timetable licence. The 95 was cut back when the 52 was extended via Walkley to Hillsborough. Walkley also gets the 31.

dink
All done following requests from the local community. If i remember correctly, a lady who lived on Hallamshire road fulwood, even wrote into the star complaining that the area didnt need so many buses and that they should be redirected to more needy parts of the city (back in 2009) so now she has got her way. silverknight
Latest news update for Sheffield Services: All the services operated by Veolia Transport will be operated by TM Travel from next Sunday. The PTE have had a charge of heart (at least until late January 2012 anyway)regarding the 64 bus Hillsborough - Rivelin by funding a M64 service replacement Sheffield - Hillsborough - Rivelin to be run by SCT on behalf of the PTE. If usage does not improve it will be withdrawn.
