Cottages at bottom of sicey

Can anyone remember the cottages that used to be at the bottom of sicey avenue opposite the shiregreen hotel? I can remember playing in what was left of the cellars, but can`t remember the cottages them selves. My mum says there was a row of them and a coblar lived in one of them as she used to take her dads boots to him to be mended.

Hi Pedro 1, I remember playing in the cellars of the old cottages, I must have been bonkers we once lit fires in them and nearly choked. They were happy days in the late sixties and then I started work.

The cottages were still occupied in 1950.

Cannot recall them being demolished.

These were the former Hartley Brook cottages. They are shown on this 1908 map and they continued to feature on maps until the 1960s or slightly later.
