Blackbeard
Last year this was posted, the lady's husband works for IKEA she claims. "Sadly, ikea Sheffield, has been put back to 2018 now." http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9950325&postcount=2196 The reason given was that IKEA wanted Greenwich built first but that is now on hold according to the government. "Greenwich Ikea plans 'on hold' after government intervention" http://www.thisislocallondon.co.uk/news/11234026.Greenwich_Ikea__plans__on_hold__after_government_intervention/ You can buy online. alchresearch
Thank God for that. http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/business/sheffield-ikea-store-gets-go-ahead-1-6691563 Some great quotes in that story, including: But the meeting was told customers were also expected to use tram, bus and train. Yeah, good luck getting that double bed or Billy bookcase on the bus.
geared
Billy bookcase on the bus. :hihi::hihi: I thought exactly the same thing ---------- Post added 24-06-2014 at 14:37 ---------- Objector Neil Parry said the plan would ‘exacerbate health inequalities’ in Tinsley because of its impact on air quality Tinsley residents hit back saying: “Who needs jobs when you will die early?” Director of Public Health Jeremy Wight said: "Who cares what the residents of Tinsley think anyway?" "We're going to flatten the place for HS2 soon enough, then they can all sod off. Well it's good to see the council taking charge for once :D

Many of their products you can't get in a car let alone on a bus, that's why they offer a delivery service.

alchresearch
Depends what threats that Tinsley Peoples Front carries out: Residents pledged they would ‘fight and win’ against Ikea and called for an independent inquiry Client Earth believed approval would be ‘unlawful’ because it would lead to a breach of EU and UK laws on air quality. Objector Neil Parry said the plan would ‘exacerbate health inequalities’ in Tinsley because of its impact on air quality He said the council would dismiss representations from Client Earth against Ikea ‘at its peril’. I would have thought that the lack of steel works, factories and cooling towers in that area would have made pollution far less today than in the past. The biggest pollutant in that area is the traffic on the M1, there have been many surveys on it and one idea was to make it a 50 mile an hour zone! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-18261619
byeo
One protester said: ‘You will be hearing from us.” But Tinsley residents hit back saying: “Who needs jobs when you will die early?” So could we just kill everyone in Tinsely, knock down their homes and build the Ikea where their rotten corpses lie ? He also said Ikea plan would ‘probably’ cause a small number of ‘additional premature deaths’. Dear me...
